He taught at Yarmouk University in Jordan and was the head of the Economics Department and vice dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the Aegean University during 1995-1997. He served as the chairman of the Economics Department of Başkent University from 1998 to 2007. He is currently employed as a professor of economics at the same department.
